Characteristic for the region are the rural manor houses, which are always worth a visit. The architecture is beautiful to look at. Diving into a time of the former way of life is easily possible in Am Salzhaff. The village museum with an exhibition of early agricultural tools ensures this. In an original clay oven, country bread is made as it used to be. A real treat for the palate.

The absolute highlight of the region is, of course, the Salzhaff. This gave the community its name. This is a bay separated from the Baltic Sea by offshore land. Only a small entrance supplies the brackish water with salt water from the Baltic Sea. Perfect conditions for a unique habitat.
