Whitby is one of the few seaside locations where the sun rises and sets over the same bay, very romantic! The food here is great, whether it’s a plate of Whitby’s finest fish and chips, luxury seafood or a pub meal. Spend time quayside, in one of the bustling wine bars – perfect for people watching. Or take a boat trip from the harbour for a different perspective.

When you’re ready, explore more of the heritage coast – pretty fishing villages, such as Staithes or Robin Hood’s Bay – are within easy reach. There are some stunning coastal walks along the cliff tops around these villages. Or head inland to see the spectacular North York Moors – a ride on the steam train from Whitby is a fantastic experience.
