Layout
These authentic four-person farmhouses have a spacious living room with television. In the open kitchen you will find sufficient inventory for at least four people, a dishwasher, filter and Senseo coffee maker, refrigerator with internal freezer and a microwave oven. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and the other bedroom is on the first floor. Both bedrooms have two single beds. The bathroom has a shower and a sink. You will find a separate toilet and a storage room on the ground floor. You can make free use of wireless internet in the house. There is also a washing machine and dryer at your disposal.
Outside you can relax on your own terrace with garden furniture. There is a shed in your garden where you can safely store your bicycles. There is room for one car at the farm. You can park a second car in the central parking lot.

De Hooiberg' (The Haystack)
Striks Erve Landscape Park really is a park where those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers feel at home. The holiday park is located in IJhorst, in the authentic Reest valley. The staff at the reception, called "de Hooiberg", will be happy to give you tips on how to get to know the beautiful surroundings. There is a small library at the reception.
Children
On holiday with children? Or are your grandchildren visiting you at Landschapspark Striks Erve? Children will be amazed by the beautiful, unspoilt nature. Run, fly and play in the woods or play football on the grass. Is your child a real explorer? They can examine the flora and fauna with a magnifying glass. There is a nice playground for small children at the reception "De Hooiberg". There is also a boules court (free of charge). Don't forget to take your balls with you?
Swimming
Water rats will enjoy themselves here. Natural pond 'De zwarte dennen' is particularly suitable for families with small children. The pond is surrounded by woodland, a lovely sandy beach, a sunbathing area, a playground and a kiosk with toilets. Are you here in winter? If you're lucky, the pond has been transformed into a large skating rink.
Surroundings
IJhorst is a village in the municipality of Staphorst, where the stork is a familiar sight. The Ooievaarscentrum De Lokkerij was established in 1981 on the initiative of the Nature Conservancy to bring the stork back to the Dutch landscape. With results: the number of breeding pairs is still increasing! De Lokkerij is open for visits during the summer months, definitely worth a visit. The surroundings are easy to explore by bike or on foot: you will discover the Reest valley, the Zwarte Dennen or the Staphorst forestry. Surrounding towns such as Zwolle, Meppel, Hoogeveen and Steenwijk are also recommended: here you can enjoy a terrace, a museum, the many shops or a cosy restaurant.
